#AdventuresinKekeland: Montclair State University
After a long semester of annotated bibliographies, thirty-three page homework assignments , and parkway tolls school’s out for summer!
I’ve been pursuing a master’s degree in Public & Organizational Relations from Montclair State University for over a year now yet I’ve never really had a chance to just hang out on the campus without balancing a conference call in one hand and a strong cup of coffee in the other.
So after making a last-minute trip to the Roselle Public Library I decided to use this holiday weekend to appreciate the abandoned campus’ beauty and just chill out with a thick book.
There’s spot on campus where you can see the entire Manhattan skyline. I always try and sit there when I get a chance.
It was worth the trek even on a cloudy day to have more than ten minutes to take it in.
I completed my undergraduate studies at Kean University so I engaged in a little bit of set tripping when it got chilly. Whatever I don't even play sports.
I'm just here for the architecture.
I was bummed not to be able to get a milkshake from Red Hawk Diner.
I remember spending some good times at this 24/7 spot as a hardheaded high school kid who was doubtful she would even go to college let alone be working on a second degree. It's now easily the best part of my graduate studies. Though the memories come in second to the mozzarella sticks!
I ended the day with a bunch of fitbit steps and an empty belly. Hey you can’t win ‘em all!
Let me know what you’re reading and where this summer using the hashtag #cletterbookclub!
